Thank you for your interest in the Brookdale Racquet Club – a.k.a. the BRC or The Pool! The BRC is a private, equity-based social swimming and tennis club in Naperville, Illinois. From May to September, the BRC is the heart of Brookdale, the Best Neighborhood in Naperville, and beyond.

The BRC is a private club. Affordable membership is limited to 450 families in the form of an equity bond. To be a member, your family must own a home, townhome, condo or any residential property. Members do not have to live or own property in the Brookdale subdivision or in Naperville. Members purchase a BRC equity bond and pay annual dues to enjoy the BRC facilities, programs and members-only activities. Members receive substantial discounts for summer programs like swim team, swim lessons, and tennis.

Annual Dues:
Members pay annual dues by each May 1st. Dues for the 2023 season were $475.00 per family. Annual dues for 2024 are $475 per family and $375 for senior or 'empty-nester' bondholders.
Dues are determined each year in March, based on programs and plans for the coming season. Members receive the BRC Annual Members’ Information Booklet by email each April, detailing dues, financials, programs, and lesson costs.
The BRC has no annual maintenance or hidden fees in addition to annual dues. Annual membership dues are the lowest in the Naperville area because of the participation and the always fun, volunteer efforts of our members and Board members.

Senior 'Empty-Nester' Membership:
The BRC has a special "Senior Dues" program. Bondholders who have been members for at least 3 years, have at least one bondholder 55 years old or older, and do not register any other household members, qualify for senior member savings.

Equity Bond:
The BRC is a non-profit equity club. Each member family owns a part of the club in the form of an equity bond. We believe that this is an important part of our club culture. Each member is an investor, with a true stake in the future of the BRC. An equity bond is $2,250.00 and is a one-time purchase that can be paid for all at once or in low, no fee and interest free installments over time.

How to Apply:

We are thrilled that you are interested in becoming a member! As an equity bond membership pool, we have a limited number of bonds available. If a bond is not available when you apply, you will be placed on the waitlist.
There are 2 types of membership at the BRC, Equity Members and Annual Members. The first 25 people in line for a bond can become Annual Members by completing their application, paying a non-refundable deposit toward their bond, and paying annual dues for the summer. Annual Members receive all the same benefits as a Bond Member. The only distinction is Annual Members are waiting for a bond, Bond Members have a bond. Currently we have a waiting list for both our Equity Membership and Annual Membership. Typically, Annual Members receive a bond and are graduated into Equity Membership within a year.
If you wish to be added to the waiting list please complete the Equity Member Application. Make sure to check "Annual Member Wait List" as your payment option. There is no payment necessary to be on the waiting list. We will contact you when an Annual Member spot opens up and will use the application to get you into an Annual Membership if you are still interested at that time.
Take a look at our 2024 Prospective Member Information Booklet to learn about activities offered this summer and everything else you need to know about the BRC.

Payment Options:

BRC member families understand that $2,250.00 can be daunting; therefore, we developed several payment options. New members can decide the number of installments to pay for the bond:
1) a single payment of $2250,
2) A $100 down payment with 10 automatic, consecutively scheduled, monthly payments of
$215, and a one-time bank processing fee of $50.
3) A $260 down payment with 20 automatic, consecutively scheduled, monthly payments of
$99.50 and a one-time bank processing fee of $50.
See the equity membership and payment option forms at the end of this document.
The installment option amounts to an interest-free loan for up to 20 months for the equity bond purchase, and provides an easy way for families to budget less than $100 per month for less than 2 years for a lifetime of enjoyment and community.
When a member family terminates its membership (hopefully, after many years), 75% of the bond payment is refunded.
