Tennis Class Descriptions
Junior Classes: K through 5th Grade
All junior classes will be taught by one of our knowledgeable and experienced pro staff. Juniors will be taught the proper grips, footwork, contact point, and correct stroke pattern for each tennis shot. The pros will create a fun and exciting learning experience to encourage participants to embrace tennis as a lifetime sport! Fun drills, point play, and no pressure team competitions will be used to give the kids a great summer tennis experience!
Junior High & High School
Players will be taught the correct grips, footwork, stroke patterns and shot production by our highly skilled pro staff. Whether their goal is to win match on our junior summer team, make the High School team, or to one day play in a U.S.T.A. Junior Tournament, we will help them reach their goals. Besides learning the correct basics, players will learn winning strategies and how to construct singles and doubles points. Fun individual and team competitions will be organized to help these juniors learn to compete on their own and how to be a part of a team.
Adult Class: Beginner, Adv. Beginner, & Intermediate
Whether you are picking up a racquet for the very first time or returning to the game from a break you will love our adult tennis classes! All classes are coed. Sign up individually, with your spouse, or with a friend. You’ll also meet new friends! Class sessions will review grips, stroke technique, and pump up your heart rate with drills that will get you moving!
Men’s and Women’s Coed Drills
Players signing up for these drills should be above the Intermediate Level (3.0 or higher). Drills involve mostly a doubles focus; however, singles drills may sometimes be run. Drills are normally fast paced and challenging. Insightful instructional tips are provided to players before and during point play.
Ladies Team Practices
All women competing on Brookdale’s Travel Teams are encouraged to participate in our weekly Team Practice. The best way to learn winning doubles strategies for match play is with a doubles partner. At practices, we go over shot placement, point execution, put away shots, how and when to change strategies in a match, etc. Practices prepare you for the upcoming Friday morning matches against other area clubs. Coach Jeff has worked with many championship traveling teams over the past 25 years.
Have a group of 4 or more and can’t make these times? Contact Chris Frantzen, Tennis Chairperson at firstname.lastname@example.org. Chris will try to arrange additional time with the BRC Tennis Pro and coaches.
